Femininity Traits: 4 Verses for Biblical Femininity

Photo by Anastasia Shuraeva on Pexels.com

Femininity is something that is, according to the Bible, what God intended for women to be. So, let’s discuss some important femininity traits.

Behavior

Titus 2:5: Discretion and Chastity

In this verse Paul instructs wives (and really all women),

“To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.”

Gotta love Paul’s frankness.

He tells women to be discreet, meaning careful with words. If you’re like me, this can be incredibly difficult which is why we need the help of the Holy Spirit to keep our mouths shut in moments we really don’t want to.

Chaste means no hanky-panky before marriage. Paul also instructs women to be restrained, or self-disciplined, keepers at home, good, and obedient to husbands.

A hefty list, but again, with the help of the Holy Spirit, that list becomes achievable.

Proverbs 31: An Ode to the Virtuous Woman

In this ode to a virtuous woman, we learn a plethora of femininity traits!

“Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.”

Some things to note: the virtuous woman has many great femininity traits: she is trustworthy, her husband trusts her, good, hard worker, early riser, considerate of others, diligent, disciplined (she exercises), cares for household, wise, kind.

Please don’t think this woman was born virtuous, kind, hardworking and trustworthy. Just like the rest of us, I’m certain she had many failures, and had to push herself to be the virtuous woman she is. Just like we do.

Physical Appearance

biblical femininity

Physical appearance is important for biblical femininity and the way we look and dress ourselves matter to God. As evidenced when Paul instructs women in 1 Timothy 2: 9-10,

“In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;  But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.”

Pretty straight-forward verse. Paul instructs women to not spend too much time focused on physical appearance, but rather their own inward appearance was most important.

Encouraging women to “adorn themselves in modest apparel” instead of “gold, or pearls, or costly array.”

But rather to adorn oneself with the femininity traits of “shamefacedness,” or reverence to others; sobriety, defined as being sensible, and lastly to do good works.

14 Great Bible Verses about Self-Worth.

1 Peter 3: 3-4: Gentle and Quiet Spirit

“Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.”

This verse reminds me a lot of 1 Timothy 2:9-10. With two early Christian leaders teaching literally the same things almost word for word, it is clear God wanted gentleness and meekness to be apart the femininity traits in women in early Christian culture.

Peter, much like Paul, encourages women to swap elaborate hairstyles, gold jewelry and nice clothes for the “imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit”-precious in God’s sight.

Conclusion

It’s important to note the backstory of the book of first Timothy. Timothy lived in Ephesus around AD 50-60. At the time, this town was a wealthy trade city.

Making Paul’s comments about not indulging in fancy clothes or jewels all the more salient. As well as rampant moral depravity which led women to dress extremely provocatively in the name of female empowerment and Artemis/Diana worship.

Although my journey of modesty may look different than yours, the origin is the same for everyone: the Bible. God made males and females with different gender roles. I encourage you to study these verses and pray what your femininity journey will look like.

Blessings and love,

Great Bible Verses About Self-Worth

bible verses about self-worth
Photo by Maksim Goncharenok on Pexels.com

As a Christian, self-worth comes from God-knowing who you are and who He called you to be. So who did He call you to be? These bible verses below will help you grow your self-worth.

Know Who You Are

Knowing who you are and what God has called you to be is one way to grow in self-worth. Check out what the bible says below about knowing who you are.

Heir

As a Christian, you are an heir to all wealth, riches power of kingdom of God according to Galatians 4:6, and the wealth of the wicked is stored for us (Proverbs 13:22).

Anointed by God

Just as king David was chosen and anointed by God to His calling, so you are anointed by God to do whatever you are called to do.

“Then I bathed you with water, washed off your blood from you and anointed you with oil” Ezekiel 16:9.

Blessings on Blessings

Christians are blessed because our bad deeds are forgiven and because we trust God according to Psalm 34:8.

“O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him” Psalm 34:8.

Redeemed!

You are redeemed because we serve Him.

“The LORD redeems His servants, and none who take refuge in Him will be condemned.” Psalms 34:22

Justified by God

Justified is a lot like being redeemed in that you are made righteous by God because of your faith and getting saved. And by His grace, you don’t have to suffer for your sins.

“Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,” Romans 3:24.

How to get saved.

Light for the World

According to Philippians 2:15, you were saved so you can be a light for all the world to see and be drawn to Christ. An amazing, and important privilege!

“That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world” Philippians 2:15.

Worthy

You are worthy. Worthy of respect, worthy of love, and worthy of every blessing the Lord has stored up for you. Why? Because all humans have value and are loved by God. John 3:16 declares,

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Not only that, but when you walk with Jesus in His ways you are already worthy of all the blessings the Lord has in store.

“…they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.” Revelations 3:4

Protected

Isaiah 54:17 says Christians are protected because no weapon formed against us will prosper.

Called for a Purpose

We all have a purpose to fulfill in our lives.

According to Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

Holy Priesthood

One purpose Christians have is to be priests. Since we are to be lights of the world directing people to Jesus, its important we know what the word says and have communion with God just like the priests did in the Levitical priesthood.

They would offer praises and prayers to God on behalf of the people. 1 Peter 2:5 says, “you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”

Have Strong Confidence

bible verses about self-worth
Photo by Ike louie Natividad on Pexels.com

Knowing these things will give you confidence and higher self-worth! As evidenced in the bible verses below.

Bold as a Lion

Proverbs 28:1 boldly declares “The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion. We too can stand against kings, and giants with boldness.” That is our portion!

Strong Confidence!

Have strong confidence because you fear the Lord. Proverbs 14:26 says, “In the fear of the LORD one has strong confidence, and his children will have a refuge.”

When you have a healthy reverence for God, you can be confident because you know He will cover you and be with you since you are living righteously.

Will do Valiantly

Psalm 60:12 states, “through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.”

We will do wonders because Jesus promised this and He lives in us!

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” Mark 16:17-18.

Conclusion

This post is so encouraging, and its for me too! For women in our modern society, it is hard to maintain high self-worth especially in American culture where we are daily bombarded with images of what the world thinks is beautiful.

Well I want to be what God calls me to be. When you know these things, you won’t be afraid of anyone or anything because you know God has your life. You can have high self-worth.

This isn’t an overnight miracle, but with daily meditation and reminding yourself what the word says about you will increase your self-worth.

8 Daily Vitamins for Women to Take

Photo by Anna Shvets on Pexels.com

We all know there are supplements the body needs to be healthy and balanced-especially us women. Some of these vitamins you can get through daily vitamins, or by eating foods rich in said vitamin (the preferred method). Let’s discuss eight daily vitamins women should be taking.

The Sunshine Vitamin

Vitamin D is very important for bone strength and the immune system.

10 Ways to Boost Your Immune System

Many women can be deficient in this daily vitamin especially if you work from home, work inside all day, or if you are black or brown.

So how can you get this daily vitamin? You can get vitamin D from fortified milk and cereal, or simply spend at least 30-45 minutes outside in full sun (longer if you are black or brown). Recommended dose is 600-800 IU per day.

Magnesium

This daily vitamin is involved in many, many processes in the body including the heart, bones, nerves, and muscles.

Great sources of magnesium include

  • Almonds
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Cashews
  • Peanut butter
  • Black beans
  • Kidney beans
  • Legumes
  • Dark leafy greens

The recommended dietary allowance for women 19-51+ is 300-320 mg.

Iron: Healthy Blood

This daily vitamin is important for delivering oxygen to the body.

Iron deficiency can be high in women, especially if you drink a lot of tea or coffee. Tea and coffee actually decreases iron uptake in body making you iron deficient.

Iron deficiency can be present in vegans and vegetarians as well, which is why its important to eat foods high in iron.

Adult women 19-50 years should take 18mg per day. Sources include

  • Lean meat
  • Seafood
  • Poultry
  • White Beans
  • Lentils
  • Spinach
  • Kidney Beans
  • Raisins

The body absorbs iron better when you consume iron with sources of food high in vitamin C like citrus fruits and berries.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Omega-3s are important in the heart, blood vessels, lungs, immune system, and endocrine system that creates hormones. Certain Omega-3s called DHA are very high in the eye, brain and sperm cells.

The three main omega-3 fatty acids are:

  • Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA)
  • Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)
  • Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)

Women need 1.1g (1000mg) per day.

ALA is found mainly in plant oils such as chia seeds, walnuts, flaxseed, soybean, and canola oils.

DHA and EPA are found in salmon, mackerel, tuna, herring, eggs, and fortified foods.

Calcium: Strong Bones

This vitamin is important for strong bones, proper heart, muscle and nerve function.

Most Americans are actually calcium deficient. Especially older children, adolescents, and women (including pregnant women), and some older adults.

Great sources of calcium include

  • Fortified Cereals
  • Fortified Dairy Products
  • Green Leafy Vegetables

Dietary Values for Calcium for Women

  • Age14-18:1300mg
  • Age19-50: 1000mg
  • Age 51-70: 1200 mg

Iodine

This daily vitamin is important for thyroid function (involved in metabolism). Adults should have 150 mcg of iodine per day. Great sources of iodine include

  • Seafood
  • Kelp
  • Dulse
  • Eggs

Vitamin C

The CDC reports that only1 in 10 American adults get enough fruits and vegetables. Making most Americans deficient in vitamin C that is abundant in fruits and vegetables.

Great sources of vitamin C include

  • Oranges
  • Kale
  • Broccoli
  • Red Bell Peppers
  • Cantaloupe
  • Papaya
  • Berries
  • Guava

Recommended daily intake of vitamin C is 75 mg per day (120 mg for pregnant or breastfeeding women).

Fiber-Keeps You Regular

This final daily vitamin is good for keeping you regular! But 95% of American adults and kids don’t have enough fiber.

Recommended daily intake of fiber is 25-30g per day from food not supplements. Good sources of fiber include

  • Whole Wheat Pasta
  • Barley
  • Berries
  • Lentils
  • Chickpeas
  • Beans
  • Avocado
  • Popcorn

Conclusion

Taking these daily vitamins will help you stay healthy and live a balanced life. You can find most of these vitamins at your local Target or Wal-Mart!

Four Ways to Effectively Grow Your Hair!

photo of woman holding bottle
Photo by Chill Jane on Pexels.com

We all want beautiful, healthy hair. If you’re like me, your healthy hair journey has been a struggle. Two years ago I lost my a section of my hair due to birth control, and have been on a journey to grow it back.  Allow me to help relieve the burden with these four foods to grow your hair!

Rosemary

Used as a shampoo by women in Victorian England, Rosemary is a wonderful herb to use to grow your hair. Board-certified dermatologist and assistant clinical professor of dermatology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine Dr. Jeannette Graf states, Rosemary essential oil can help stimulate healthy, thick hair,” affirms Dr. Graf.

“The oil can speed up the process of cell turnover and growth, which can work as a natural remedy to grow thicker hair. Since it is an anti-inflammatory, it is used for [preventing hair loss], as well as regrowth.”

Add a few drops of rosemary oil to your weekly deep conditioner, or use rosemary water as a rinse. After deep conditioning my hair, I rinse with rosemary and onion water, which I’ll talk more about below.

Onion Water

I know, onions stink, but this root vegetable will make your hair grow because of one mineral abundant in onions: sulfur.

Keratin is made of sulfur and hair is made of keratin- adding more sulfur will strengthen hair allowing you to retain length. The Black community knows all about Sulfur8, when our mothers and grandmothers would grease our scalps with the product before styling!  Speaking of protein, another protein is important for your hair: collagen.

Collagen

Your hair is made of collagen, so adding collagen to your regimen will reap many benefits! Bone broth, meat, eggs, seafood, berries and citrus fruits are all high in collagen and vitamin C which aids in collagen formation.

To reap the benefits of collagen, add 1-2 tbsp of lemon juice to your conditioner, or take daily collagen supplements. Taking a daily hair vitamin (I take Nature’s bounty hair, skin, and nail vitamin with collagen) has been a game-changer for me for retaining length. I have a friend who always has long, and thick hair and she attributes this to collagen supplements.

To maximize hair growth, I use rinses after I deep condition my hair. Check out the rosemary-onion water hair rinse I use below.

Rosemary-Onion Rinse

-¼ cup dried rosemary

-¼ cup chopped yellow onion

-Peppermint oil (12-20 drops to get rid of smell)

-2 cups of water

-1 cup organic, grass fed beef bone broth, optional

  1.  Add rosemary and onion into pot
  2. Add 2 cups of water
  3. Boil for 10-15 minutes
  4. Set aside to cool
  5. Strain rosemary and onion
  6. Add 12-20 drops of peppermint oil, and 1 cup of bone broth (optional)
  7. Wash and deep condition hair as usual, rinse with cooled rosemary-onion water.

Circulation

Unlike the previous points, you can’t find this in your kitchen, but this is a simple trick you can add to your hair regimen!  Increase circulation to your scalp.

Increasing circulation increases hair growth because increased blood circulation delivers more nutrients the hair follicle needs to grow your hair longer.

To increase scalp circulation, use a scalp massager or your fingers to massage scalp for 5-10 minutes every night. Or place head between legs for 5-10 minutes every night. To add more circulation, massage your scalp with peppermint oil (be sure to use a carrier oil!).

Conclusion

With anything in life, consistency is key. When utilizing these tips, it’s important to remain consistent. Try these for at least 30 days and decide for yourself if you notice any difference! I have implemented these tips and noticed my hair has been growing, and getting stronger.

Most folks’ hair only grows ¼ inch to ½ inch per month so patience is also a factor. If you really want to grow strong, healthy hair, it’s important to use the right products. Some hair care products have ingredients that are harmful to your hair-check out my post about that here.

What is Faith? Three Easy Ways to Grow Your Faith

woman reading a book beside the window
Photo by Rahul Shah on Pexels.com

As a Christian, faith in Jesus is the glue holding the Christian life together. But what about those who are struggling with their faith? Let’s discover what is faith and three easy steps to grow your faith.

Faith Comes by Hearing

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17 NKJV

Faith is believing pure and simple. In order to have it you have to have something to believe in.

That’s one of the reasons church is so important, and having a pastor is important. Preachers teach us about Jesus, and help us understand the life we should live according to the bible. Reading the bible is also important. You need to hear the word of God first in order to act on it.

Remember when Jesus healed the lame man at the pool of Bethesda? Jesus told Him, ““Rise, take up your bed and walk.”  And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.”” John 5: 8.

The lame man heard what Jesus said first then he had to decide if he would believe it as true (that if he tried to, he would be able to walk). Again, faith without works is dead.

Study the Bible

The Bible is our guidebook for life. Understanding what God desires of you will help build your faith.

Listen to the bible app, read the bible in the morning and evening. Listen to a good preaching, a few times a week.  And memorize bible verses: write them down on sticky notes, post them on your bathroom mirror.  However you can get the word in you.

When you know what the Bible says and act on it your faith can grow.  Here are some Bible verses to get you started!

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4: 13

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is our refuge. Selah.” Psalm 62: 8

“Commit your actions to the LORD, and your plans will succeed.” Proverbs 16: 3

Don’t Talk about it Be About it

Finally, faith = action.

James 2:17 says, “Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead (NKJV).”

If you are reading the Bible , and trying to grow in your relationship with God-for more insights into growing in your relationship with God, check out my article here-there will come a time when you will have to act on those beliefs.

Conclusion

If you are going through hard times, study Psalm 62: 8 and trust God is your refuge. Need healing? Believe Psalm 103: 3 and know God will heal you.

I’ve heard many pastors preach that faith is a muscle. Thus, it has to be flexed and strengthened daily. That is how to grow in your faith.

It can be hard to wait to have sex before marriage. Especially when you face a daily bombardment  with of sex on tv shows, movies, music, music videos and books. Begging the question: should you consider no sex before marriage? Yes: let me tell you why.

*This post is by no means to shame anyone who has not or chosen not to abstain from sex before marriage. On the contrary, I want to share some amazing benefits of abstaining from sex before marriage!*

Stronger and Better Relationship

One benefit of not having sex before marriage is it strengthens your relationship. A 2010 study including 2,035 married participants who completed a questionnaire about their relationships revealed some insights into abstinence and marital benefits.

The researchers found, “couples who waited until marriage compared to those who started having sex in the early part of their relationship had relationship stability rated 22 percent higher, and relationship satisfaction was rated 20 percent higher.”

Dean Busby the lead researcher further elaborated, “There’s more to a relationship than sex, but we did find that those who waited longer were happier with the sexual aspect of their relationship.”

There is more to a relationship than sex: compatibility, life goals, morals, and values. Abstaining from sex allows you to learn other things about your spouse other than their anatomy. Which leads to my next point.

Strengthen Communication Skills

When you’re focused on other things other than sex you can learn a lot about your partner! What they like and dislike, and if you two are truly compatible or not. Which is another benefit of not having sex before marriage.

The study mentioned above revealed that couples who waited until marriage compared to those who started having sex in the early part of their relationship had 12% better communication. If you need a few conversation starters for you and your partner, check out my blog post here!

Learn Self-Discipline

“For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality.” 1 Thessalonians 4: 3

Another benefit of not having sex before marriage is you learn self-discipline. An area I’m growing in. If you’re wanting to be more disciplined, no other way than to practice abstinence. Self-discipline is especially important in marriage.

There will be times when you have to exercise self-discipline by holding your tongue and not lashing out against your spouse, or by holding your wallet and not spending a load of money on Shein.com when you’re on a budget (as in my case!).

Better Sex

One pretty important benefit of not having sex before marriage is once you get married, the sex can be better compared to couples’ sex lives who didn’t wait.

The aforementioned study found that compared to couples who didn’t wait until marriage to have sex, sexual quality of the relationship was rated 15 percent better.

It makes sense. When you don’t have anyone else to compare your sexual experiences with, your sexual relationship with your spouse can grow unhindered.

Bonus-God Warns Against Premarital Sex

“Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.” Hebrews 13:4

If you’re a Christian, you know that the bible warns against premarital sex. God doesn’t say this to hurt us, or because He doesn’t want us to have fun. It’s because He cares for us and wants to protect us.

I once heard a pastor describe sex as a fire: when in a controlled environment like a fireplace with a gate, it can be enjoyed for warmth and for making s’mores!

But when in an uncontrolled environment, fire can cause great harm: burning everything in its wake. In the confines of a committed marriage, sex can bring a lot of benefits. But outside of the confines of marriage, there is risk. Its up to you to decide if the risks outweigh the benefits.

Food for the Brain- Enhance Focus, Clarity, and Attention

Photo by Andrea Piacquadio on Pexels.com

Struggling with focus and clarity (especially during those long, tedious meetings)? Thankfully, nature already has multiple food for the brain available to help you stay focused. Let’s explore five foods for the brain that will enhance focus, mental clarity, attention, and memory.

H2O

Water is essential to life, and many people are dehydrated and don’t realize it. Research shows dehydration can lead to decrease of attention, and concentration.

Drinking water can improve attention, especially since 80% of your brain is water.

I’ve often noted that drinking a large glass of water in the morning is a great way to wake me up. You can even spice it up by adding cucumber and lemon to add some extra electrolytes! This is especially important if you drink purified water which is often lacking key electrolytes.

You do not want to to skip out on adding these essential minerals to your diet. Minerals like sodium, potassium and magnesium are ESSENTIAL for keeping you alive and functioning to the best performance.

Magnesium, for example, is involved in many processes (including ensuring you have optimal energy levels) in the body and can improve cognitive function.

Be sure you’re drinking the right water-spring water is best. I hate tap water, and usually opt for filtered water (thank you Whole Foods!) with added electrolytes from cucumber or lemon. Or simply add a sprinkle of mineral salt (I.e. Himalayan salt, Icelandic sea salt, Mediterranean sea salt). You can also add some electrolyte packs or drops to your water bottle.

Get Some Omegas

Like water, the next food for the brain isn’t actually a food, but a supplement. Omega fatty acids like DHA are able to increase memory and reaction time a study done in healthy adults found.

Great sources of DHA includes grass-fed beef, pastured egg yolks, trout, and salmon. Take 2-3 servings per week or 1-3g (or 1000mg-3,000mg) fish oil per day.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

The following food for the brain is extra virgin olive oil. This amazing oil is not just good for your hair, but its also very good for your brain. Extra virgin olive oil cleans up junk in the brain, and aids in learning and memory formation.

A study found that taking extra virgin olive oil had beneficial effects on learning and memory deficits in mice. Simply drizzle 2-3 tbsp on one of your salad or any other meal every day.

Cinnamon

This spice is great for improving learning speed. A study found that cinnamon was able to make poor-learning mice better learners by stimulating the learning areas of their brains.

Walnuts

This next food for the brain is able to boost memory and concentration speed. This brain-appearing nut is rich in the omega-3 fatty acids (see above) your brain craves.

*Bonus: Lion’s Mane Mushroom*

Who doesn’t like bonuses? Well, this bonus has been found to protect the brain, anti depressive functions, improve cognitive function and even improve anxiety. I enjoy taking lion’s mane in my coffee. Try Laird superfood creamer from whole foods!

Conclusion

If you’re struggling to focus in your day-to-day lives, try incorporating some of these foods to enhance your focus, attention, and learning.

How to use Aloe Vera for Face: Benefits and Recipes!

Photo by Andrea Piacquadio on Pexels.com

If you’re like me, figuring out how to get clear skin is almost like finding the Fountain of Youth. I’ve gone through multiple skin care regimens to get that clear dewy skin! And I have to say-none of the products I’ve used have gotten my skin as clear (without breaking the bank) as Aloe Vera has. Let’s discover how to use aloe vera for face, along with some benefits and recipes!

Aloe Vera Benefits

Aloe Vera has been used for centuries for its multi-use applications, and is worth its weight in gold. I have been using aloe vera for around a month now and my skin is worlds better! So what are some benefits to using aloe vera? Let’s see.

1. Hydration for skin

Aloe vera hydrates the skin. A study found that using aloe vera extracts on the skin increased water concentration of the outer layer of skin.

2. Skin Healing and Skin Rejuvenation

Aloe vera heals the skin, reducing dark spots and acne scars (yes!). A study found that a protein in aloe vera called Aloesin actually accelerates skin wound healing.

3. Collagen! Collagen!

With Aloe vera being involved in skin healing, it is involved in collagen synthesis great for keeping skin youthful and supple (i.e. save some money on those collagen serums and supplements!).

4. Antibacterial = no more acne

Most acne is caused by bacterial infection in the skin. Further causing inflammation and those big, ugly pus-filled acne bumps. Aloe vera is antibacterial which can reduce acne.

5. No more redness

Aloe vera can reduce inflammation caused by acne. Aloe vera has a cooling reaction on the skin that makes redness disappear. Cucumber is also great at reducing redness and inflammation. Learn more about cucumbers for skin here.

Recipes

Now that you know why you should use aloe vera for face, let’s discover some easy recipes to use on the skin!

Aloe and Rose water

This combination will pack a punch in your acne woes. Rose water is great at reducing redness, and rejuvenating skin. Here’s an easy recipe you can use.

-1/4 cup of dried rose petals (you can use store-bought roses and dry them outside)

-1/5 cup distilled water

-1/4 cup aloe vera gel

-1/4 cup distilled water

  1. Bring rose petals in 1/5 cup of water to a boil, then simmer 5-10 minutes in a medium sauce-pan.
  2. Allow to cool then add 1/4 cup water
  3. Add 1/4 cup of aloe vera gel

Aloe Vera Toner

This is a cost-effective, natural, and toxin-free facial product that will do wonders for you without breaking the bank!

-1 large aloe leaf, take all gel out

-20 drops of frankincense (skin healing and rejuvenation)

-½ Teaspoon of extra virgin coconut oil (mild sunscreen, moisturizer)

  1. Blend aloe vera gel chunks in a blender until smooth.
  2. Add 20 drops of frankincense oil
  3. Add ½ tsp of extra virgin coconut oil
  4. Place in sealed jar and refrigerate

After washing my face and spritzing with rose water, I add a dime to quarter sized amount to my face and neck then moisturize with a rose oil serum.

Conclusion

These are cost-effective, natural, and toxin-free facial products that will do wonders for you without breaking the bank! I didn’t notice a difference in my skin until about a month of use. But give aloe vera for face a try-you might never go back to your old skin-care products. For more easy clear skin recipes check out my post here

Want to Find Love in 2022? Look no Further!

Are you looking for love this year? Many people want to find love but don’t know how to find that special someone. Look no further than the five easy points below!

Be Friendly

This one is pretty simple but often overlooked! Proverbs 18: 24 says, “A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly.”

If you want to find love, you’ll want to be friendly. Simple enough, right? Often, before people get into a relationship or get married, they will be friends first. Or the couple will have met through mutual friends. This was the case for my spouse and I.

I talk more about this in my Youtube video about Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds who also were friends before getting married. Check that out here!

Research also supports this. A recent study including 1,900 adults found that “for 68% of them, their current or most recent relationship began as a friendship.” Having friends is important for healthy lives. But keep in mind that your current (or even past) friendships could be how you find love. More on being friendly later.

Be Open

If you want to find love, it’s important to be open to finding love anywhere. If you’re a Christian, you will involve God in your love life. He may lead you to go on a dating app (or get off a dating app).

Proverbs 3:5-6 says to “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Be open to find love in at work, or on social media, or even on a dating website! You can find love anywhere. If you have completely written off some of these things, maybe give them another shot?

Also, be open about what you are looking for which leads to my next point.

Be Honest

Be honest about who you are and what you want. Ask yourself hard questions. Such as:

What type of person is best for you? Are you allowing people into your life who will challenge you to be better? Are you allowing people into your life who will encourage, love, and support you?

Or are you allowing people who are not the best for you? Have there been red flags you’ve ignored because you don’t want to be alone?

Are you looking for a relationship because you want to fill a void in your life? Do you need to get some healing before your next relationship? Not only that, but be sure of what you need-the type of person you need in your life.

I’ve asked myself some of these questions. These are just some questions to ask yourself before getting into a relationship.

Be-autiful

This next point is a little controversial but here me out! You should be the best version of yourself. Here is an important point to remember:

People cannot read minds.

Okay?

Thus, how you present yourself to others matters. People will judge you based on how you look. I’m not saying you have to look like the blonde, thin models on magazines because we’re not all built that way. I am saying to be the healthiest version of yourself and present yourself in a way that demonstrates your character and beauty.

Need style advice? Check out outfits and looks on Pinterest!

Not only that, but watch your body language. most experts agree that 70 to 93 percent of all communication is nonverbal. Going back to my point on being friendly, if you’re trying to find love don’t look unfriendly.

Important body language cues to remember:

Smile, keep your stance open, try to keep your arms unfolded, feet pointed towards the person, and maintain eye contact when communicating with people to show interest and friendliness. Don’t be super desperate but keep this in mind when you’re talking to people in general.

Be Spirit-Led

Finally, if you want to find love be spirit-led. I talked about this extensively in my post how I met the one which you can read here.

Like I noted above, Proverbs 3:5-6 says to “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

God wants the best for us. When you allow the One who knows your end from your beginning (Isaiah 46: 10), you will not be disappointed. I am a testament of that.

Conclusion

In a time where the world is more connected than ever, it seems to be difficult to find the one. Maybe because there are so many options available? If you are trying to find love, I’m here to encourage you that it’s never too late. Utilize these points above to help in your search!

Blessings,

Michelle
